300 hour Yin & Yang Yoga Teacher Training, and what it all means...

Picture
The mission of the SATORI Yoga Teacher Training program is to provide a space where avid yoga students and aspiring Yoga teachers can explore the depths of their physical, mental and spiritual yoga practice; guiding them along their path towards SATORI ~ enlightenment.

We offer quality instruction with knowledgeable and experienced Yoga teachers, leaving students with the capacity to both practice and teach safe, effective yoga practices for students of all demographics.   A strong emphasis is placed on anatomy and physiology, particularly on skeletal variation; allowing the teacher and student to understand how to make the yoga postures fit them, rather than making their bodies fit the posture.

In establishing the first 300 hour Yin & Yang Yoga Teacher Training program in Canada, it is our goal to offer you 200 hours of unique instruction in the YANG methodology of a Hatha Vinyasa Yoga practice, strongly influenced by the Kripalu lineage.  In the following 100 hours, you will receive extensive training in YIN Yoga, as influenced by the teachings of Paul & Suzee Grilley.  Here you will come to understand the full capacity of your anatomical variation, and how knowledge of both YIN and YANG Yoga formulates a balanced Yoga practice for yourself and your students.  We are a Registered Yoga School, accredited with Yoga Alliance, at the 200 hour level.  They do not recognize 300 hour base trainings, and so they have accredited the program as RYS 200 hour, and recognize the additional 100 hours as continuing education credits.  The full program is still a 300 hour teacher training, and the addition of the 100 hours of Yin Yoga training can be applied towards future 500 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training programs through SATORI.  This is not a mandatory requirement to become a Yoga School, but we want to ensure you that you are receiving the highest quality instruction, and are regulated by a governing body.

To facilitate immersing yourself in the experience of Yoga, throughout your tranining program you will receive one complimentary Yoga class per week with Stephanie!  Keeping up your practice is essential to being able to share your gifts...

We are currently accepting applications to the 2013-2014 training program, apply today!!

Designation: Upon completion of the SYTT 300 hour program, you are a Certified Yoga Teacher in both the Yang (Hatha Vinyasa) and Yin traditions.  You will be eligible to join Yoga Alliance, as well as Yoga Atlantic.   Please note that you will be graduating with 100 more hours of training than the majority of other Yoga Teacher Training programs available.   These additional 100 hours may be applied to the 500 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training through SYTT, beginning  in 2013.  This will be held in three individual modules, Yin Yoga being the first of three modules.  For further information, please see details below.

*All program fees must be paid-in-full prior to receiving certification and attending the graduation ceremonies.

What others have said about our programs...

Denise F. SYTT 300 Graduate, October 2011
"The Satori Yoga Teacher Training was a transformative experience for me.  The 14 months spent with Stephanie and the other students was an experience I will never forget, I have learned about the anatomy, the history of Yoga and so much more.  I now view the body in a new light and have a great respect for all human life.  I have accepted that I can never do lotus and more importantly I now know why, I know my limitations. I felt accepted
and my opinions were always respected."

Barb W., Scotchtown, NB,
SYTT 300 Graduate, October 2011
"The Satori Teacher training program gave me the knowledge and experience to confidently and safely share yoga with others in my community.  The depth of the program - which included Yin yoga, was based upon a strong anatomical foundation which has permitted me to do modifications for my students  based upon their needs and understand why I am doing it. We were exposed to a number of specific types of yoga such as yoga and pregnancy, assisted yin, and restorative yoga, among others. If you are looking for a comprehensive  yoga teacher training program, I highly recommend Stephanie Guitar and Satori."

Donna M., Fredericton, NB,
SYTT 300 Graduate, October 2011
"I am so grateful for the SYTT 300
hour program experience as the transformative personal development program it really is."
